Barcelona made a powerful statement by thrashing Valencia 6-0, with loanee Marcus Rashford playing a key role in the Spanish champions' victory. Making his second start for the club, the Manchester United forward recorded his first La Liga assist with a superb cross from the left wing that set up Raphinha for the team's second goal.
The rout began when Fermín López scored the opener, and he quickly followed up with a spectacular long-range strike to make it 3-0. Raphinha also grabbed a brace, netting his second goal with a powerful finish.
Later, substitute Robert Lewandowski joined the scoring spree, also finding the back of the net twice. The Polish striker first finished off a pass from Dani Olmo and then sealed the 6-0 victory with a clever chip that was initially ruled offside but was ultimately confirmed by VAR.
Barcelona's victory could have been even more lopsided, as they created numerous chances throughout the game. Ferran Torres hit the post after receiving a flicked pass from a Rashford cross, and the team maintained an aggressive attack for the full 90 minutes.
The match was held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, the home of the Barcelona B team, as the iconic Camp Nou is currently undergoing redevelopment.
