Dominik Livakovic speaks for the first time after Fenerbahce: It was my dream!

Having left Fenerbahçe 2 seasons ago, Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic made his first statements at Girona, where he will play on loan this summer.

Livakovic, who said that he had dreamed of playing in La Liga for years, told the French press Foot Mercato : "Playing in La Liga has always been a dream for me. The intensity, the atmosphere, the passion and the level of competition are things that every player wants to experience at some point."

Answering the question"Why did you leave Fenerbahce for Girona?", the experienced goalkeeper said : "I feel I'm in the best shape both physically and mentally. I have more experience now and I'm a player who always wants to improve. I'm happy to join Girona and I'm looking forward to this adventure. My goal is to use my experience, stability and passion to help the team on and off the pitch. La Liga is a great challenge and I look forward to developing with the club and fighting for good results."

The 30-year-old netminder was loaned to Girona from Fenerbahce with an option to buy. Fenerbahçe had signed Ederson from Manchester City to replace Livakovic.
