Como 1907 has finalized a significant permanent transfer, officially acquiring Argentine midfielder Máximo Perrone from Manchester City. The 22-year-old, who previously spent the 2024-25 season on loan at the Stadio Sinigaglia, has now committed his future to the Italian club until 2029.
Como confirmed the acquisition in a statement, highlighting Perrone's journey and qualities: "Born in Buenos Aires in 2003, Perrone began his career at Vélez Sarsfield before moving to Manchester City in January 2023. He gained further top-flight experience in La Liga with Las Palmas before joining Como on loan last season, where he quickly became a standout presence in midfield, making 26 appearances and showcasing his intelligence, composure, and leadership."
The club further emphasized the strategic importance of his signing, stating, "A midfielder with exceptional vision, technical skill, and tactical awareness, Perrone’s arrival marks another important step in Como’s plans to build a young, ambitious, and competitive squad for the club’s return to Serie A."
Both head coach Cesc Fàbregas and Perrone himself expressed their excitement about the permanent switch. Fàbregas remarked, "We’re thrilled to welcome Máxi to the Como family on a permanent deal. He settled in quickly last season, understood exactly how we want to play, and became a key figure in the team."
Perrone echoed the sentiment, sharing his personal delight: "I’m so pleased to officially be staying at Como. I really got on well with everyone, the coach, my teammates, the city, and the fans last year. I’m confident we’ll enjoy many more great moments together in the future." This permanent move underscores Como's ambition as they prepare for life back in Italy's top flight.
