EuroBasket 2025: Lithuania in the quarterfinals, Latvia home and home

Latvia, one of the hosts of the 2025 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2025), said goodbye to Lithuania in the last 16 round after starting the tournament with a defeat against Turkey.

Lithuania comfortably eliminated Latvia in front of thousands of spectators, despite an injury that forced star guard Rokas Jokubaitis to miss the tournament.

THE EVENING OF ARNAS VELIČKA

Lithuania, led by Rimas Kurtinaitis, started the game with a 28-18 first quarter score and led from start to finish, winning 88-79 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Arnas Velicka had 21 points and 12 assists while NBA big Valanciunas had 9 points and Azuolas Tubelis had a double-double with 19 points and 12 assists.

Lithuania will face the winner of the Greece-Israel matchup in the quarterfinals.
