Fenerbahçe s new signing Edson Alvarez: It s really incredible, I m very excited

Edson Alvarez, the new player of the Yellow-Lacivertli team, was the guest of Fenerbahçe TV. The Mexican international said that everyone knows the greatness of Fenerbahce and shared the conversation he had with Tadic.

'REALLY UNBELIEVABLE'

First of all, Edson Alvarez shared his thoughts and feelings: "When you come to a big club, you expect to have a great fan base. I came here expecting that and that's exactly what I got, we have great fans. From the first day they have shown me a lot of love, which is very important for me as a footballer because when I feel that love it's easier for me to give my best on the pitch. I can also talk about the city. The city is really incredible. It is very beautiful. The weather is great. I met my teammates, they are all very nice people. So everything is very positive."

Edson Alvarez responded to a question about whether he had exchanged ideas during the transfer process as follows

"Of course, before I came here I knew how big this club is, it's not only known in Mexico. Everyone already knows how big Fenerbahce is. Before I came I spoke to some of my old teammates, Dusan Tadic and I played together at Ajax, and I asked him a little bit more information, especially about the city, because it's very important for my family to live here. He only said nice things, which made me even more eager to come here."

'THEY MAKE ME WANT TO FIGHT MORE FOR THIS CLUB'

Edson, who followed the Kocaelispor match from the stands, described the atmosphere in the stadium as follows

"The atmosphere was exactly what I expected. Before I came here, everyone told me that our fans were incredible. They told me that they supported the team for 90 minutes. I witnessed this in the first game from the stands. They are always in the game, always supporting the team. As a Latin footballer, I enjoy that a lot and it makes me want to fight even more for this club and the fans."

'SEEING SUCH AN ATMOSPHERE MADE ME FEEL AT HOME TOO'

Stating that the atmosphere in the stadium had a serious impact on his family, Alvarez said, "My wife was also very impressed by the atmosphere she saw. In fact, this kind of atmosphere is common in Mexico, in Latin America. Seeing such an atmosphere made me feel at home and made me want to get on the pitch as soon as possible."

On his impatience to join the team, Alvarez said: "I won't be able to play against Benfica, but I will support my teammates with all my heart.
