In an extensive interview with Canal 11 in Portugal, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho spoke candidly about everything from the current structure of football to his own career path. Emphasizing that he has lost none of his passion and energy for football, Mourinho said: "There is no difference between the Mourinho of today and the Mourinho of 20 years ago. I want to win the next match, I love my job and I don't see any reason to stop me. My family is one of my biggest motivators. Even though I can't be with them all the time, this sacrifice makes me feel alive and motivated."
Mourinho said that football has become more complex than in the past; "The most important thing today is to have a top-level PR specialist. Because the world is now ruled by perceptions. In the past, the one who won the most was considered the best. Now it is not like that. Now the best is the one who creates the most perception. I came to the Premier League in 2004, I was the European champion that season. Today, I don't even know who came to the Premier League as a manager. I don't mean it as disrespect, it's a fact. Now, managers are not chosen according to the number of wins, but according to statistics and data. Perceptions are created and now it's more important than winning to 'play like this', 'look like this'. In this respect, everything has changed radically."

'THE ONLY CLUB I HAVE NEVER WON A TROPHY'
Mourinho reminded that Tottenham was one of the few teams in his career where he failed to win a trophy, and said of the yellow-lacivert club: "Is there pressure to win here? This is my fault. I didn't stay long at Tottenham but I was going to play a final and I was sent off two days before the final. I won at Roma and reached a second European final. Fenerbahçe was the first club where I spent a full season and didn't play a final or win a trophy." He said.
'THE FIRST YEAR WAS A YEAR OF DISCOVERY'
Speaking about the yellow navy blue club, the Portuguese world famous coach said; "The first year at Fenerbahçe was a year of discovery. It is like discovering a new world. You have to be there to understand it. We will see what will happen this year."
'ONE DAY I WILL RETURN'
"One day I will see myself coaching Portugal again. And one day I will coach the Portuguese national team. I want to be in a World Cup, with Portugal or not, but it has to be with the Portuguese national team," Mourinho said.

'IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GOALKEEPER LIKE EDERSON...'
Speaking about his coaching methods, the world-famous coach said: 'Sometimes I ask Fenerbahce TV not to film some things in training because it takes me a lot of time to prepare that training and if a video goes on the internet someone can copy it. I work hard to improve an exercise but it can be on Instagram in 30 seconds. Even the most advanced tactical equipment is no longer the monopoly of the big clubs.
'HAS GREAT POTENTIAL'
Expressing his happiness for the increasing number of Portuguese managers in the Premier League, Mourinho also spoke highly of Ruben Amorim: "Things were never stable at Manchester United after Sir Alex Ferguson. We won trophies there, we finished second in the league, but it was not considered enough. Today there is a more conscious structure at the club, coming from within the sport. The confidence in Rúben, despite the difficult start he had, shows how much potential he has. He has a great personality and potential. He has an incredible opportunity to do well."
"It's not just good, it's fantastic. We have four representatives in the biggest league in the world," he said of the four Portuguese coaches in charge in the Premier League.
