Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton has announced the devastating death of his cherished pet dog, Roscoe. The seven-time world champion shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, revealing that his well-known English bulldog had passed away Sunday evening "in my arms."
Hamilton had previously alerted fans on Friday that Roscoe had been placed in a coma after falling seriously ill with pneumonia. He notably missed a scheduled tire test event with his Ferrari team to remain by his dog's side during the difficult period.

In his emotional post, Hamilton wrote: "After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the very end."
The former Mercedes driver, who is currently enduring a challenging first season with Ferrari, reflected on the profound connection he shared with his companion. "Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together," he stated, referring to Roscoe as an "angel and true friend."
Hamilton also referenced the 2020 death of his other dog, Coco, noting that he had never faced the difficult decision of having to put a pet to sleep before. "It is one of the most painful experiences and I feel a deep connection to everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet," he added.
Rest in Peace Roscoe Hamilton, a true star in his own right ✨

Hamilton adopted Roscoe in 2013, the same year he joined Mercedes, and the handsome bulldog became a celebrity in his own right, often seen by his owner's side in the F1 paddock over the past decade. The 40-year-old will now attempt to refocus as the 2025 season continues this weekend with the Singapore Grand Prix.
