Onana injury and Altay Bayındır s form force Man Utd to pursue Lammens

Manchester United is reportedly in advanced talks to sign highly-rated goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. The club is working to agree on personal terms with the 23-year-old Belgian as they race against the clock to complete the transfer before the window closes next week.

Lammens, who is valued at between €25m-€30m (£21.6m-£25.9m), has been a top target for United since last December. The club has held multiple talks about a deal, and Lammens' representatives were in England this week to discuss a potential move. The goalkeeper was even left out of Antwerp's most recent match against Mechelen as a deal with United looked increasingly likely.

Although he has yet to be capped at the senior international level for Belgium, Lammens is viewed as a huge prospect and a potential long-term replacement for Thibaut Courtois. His age and price make him an attractive investment for United, offering a high resale value if he continues to develop as scouts expect.

United's pursuit of a new goalkeeper comes after a challenging start to the season. First-choice goalkeeper André Onana has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the pre-season, forcing Altay Bayindir to step in. Bayindir, however, made a costly error in the recent defeat to Arsenal on the opening weekend, adding to the pressure on the club to secure a new shot-stopper.

While other high-profile goalkeepers like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Emi Martínez have been linked with moves this summer, their high wages and transfer fees make Lammens the more financially viable option for United as they look to get back on track.

The club is also looking to offload several players, including striker Rasmus Hojlund, who has been linked with Napoli alongside Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia.
