Real Madrid officially parts ways with Carlo Ancelotti

As expected, following disappointing results in both the UEFA Champions League and La Liga, Real Madrid has decided to end its collaboration with Ancelotti. In the wake of this decision, Xabi Alonso is widely expected to take over the reins at the Spanish giants, while Ancelotti is set to sign a contract with the Brazilian national team.

BRAZIL CONFIRMS DEAL

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) previously confirmed that Ancelotti will take charge of the national team through to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 65-year-old is expected to be on the sidelines for Brazil’s upcoming South American World Cup Qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay.

CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues commented on the appointment, saying:

“Bringing Ancelotti to Brazil is not just a strategic move. Through this decision, we are making it clear to the world that we are determined to return to the top of the podium. He is one of the greatest coaches in football history, and now he will lead the best national team on the planet. With him, we will begin a new and glorious era for Brazilian football.”

During his time at Real Madrid, Ancelotti won three Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, two FIFA Club World Cups, one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup.
