River Plate start the tournament with a win: 3 1

In the FIFA Club World Cup hosted by the United States of America (USA), Argentina representative River Plate and Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds faced each other at Lumen Field in Seattle.

German referee Felix Zwayer whistled the match and River Plate took a 1-0 lead with Facundo Colidio's goal in the 12th minute.

While the first half ended with this result, in the 48th minute, Sebastian Driussi, who took advantage of a big mistake in the Urawa Red defence, sent the ball into the net with his head and increased the difference to 2. In the 58th minute of the match, Yusuke Matsuo brought the score to 2-1 with a penalty goal. In the 73rd minute, on the corner kick used by Marcos Acuna, Maximiliano Meza hit the net with a header and gave the Argentine team a 2-different lead again. While there were no other goals in the remaining minutes, River Plate started the tournament with 3 points.

River Plate will face Mexican team Monterrey and Urawa Red will face Italian team Inter in the 2nd week match of the Club World Cup.
