Tammy Abraham is reportedly on the verge of a permanent move to Turkish Süper Lig side Beşiktaş, with a €20 million deal having been agreed upon by both clubs and the player. This significant transfer, confirmed by transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano and corroborated by Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset, arrives just in time to address Roma's pressing financial needs. The Giallorossi must generate €13 million by the end of June 30 to balance their books and avoid potential breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) requirements.
The negotiations are said to have progressed swiftly, with all parties quickly reaching an understanding. The 27-year-old English international spent the recently concluded season on loan at Serie A rivals AC Milan, where he managed to score 10 goals and provide seven assists across 45 competitive appearances. Milan formally confirmed his release from the loan just today, having decided against making his move permanent.
Abraham is a product of Chelsea's renowned youth academy. He originally made the switch to Roma in 2021 in a substantial deal worth €41 million, plus approximately €4 million in add-ons.
While other prominent clubs, including Turkish giants Galatasaray and Russian club Zenit St Petersburg, had also shown interest in the prolific centre-forward, it appears Abraham has chosen the path to Beşiktaş. The move promises a new chapter for the striker, who has three goals in 11 senior caps for England, and provides a timely financial boost for his parent club, Roma, as they navigate their FFP obligations.
