UEFA s big shock to Italy for EURO 2032: These stadiums are outdated

Following the announcement that Turkey and Italy would host EURO 2032, preparations were accelerated. While Turkey's stadiums were approved by UEFA, our partner Italy received an unexpected response.

'OUTDATED STADIUMS'

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, UEFA did not approve Italy's list for EURO 2032, including San Siro, Napoli's Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Bari's San Nicola, Florence's Artemio Franchi, Genoa's Luigis Ferraris, Verona's Bentegodi, Bologna's Renato Dall'Ara, Cagliari's Sant'Elia and Roma's Olimpico, on the grounds that their stadiums were 'too old' and 'out of date', so to speak. Juventus Stadium was the only stadium approved on Italy's list.

THE CITY OF MILANO AT RISK

Taking UEFA's warnings into account, Italy informed UEFA that they will start renovation works on the stadiums until 2026.

On the other hand, it is stated that the famous stadium of Milan, San Siro, will be insufficient despite the renovation works, while the approval to be obtained from the municipality will be subject to investigation, which is a major obstacle for Milan to take part in the tournament for the time being.

On the other hand, Inter and Milan are working on a new stadium, which is unlikely to be ready in time for the tournament. If a new solution is not found, the city of Milan will have to say goodbye to the tournament.
