Inter Milan is deep in negotiations with Parma, aiming to secure the services of promising French striker Ange-Yoan Bonny. The Nerazzurri's president, Beppe Marotta, publicly confirmed the club's interest in Bonny last night, setting the stage for a potential summer transfer.
Sources with direct knowledge of the discussions indicate that a crucial element in these talks is Sebastiano Esposito, the young Inter striker who recently returned to the Stadio Meazza after a loan spell at Empoli. Parma is reportedly a keen admirer of Esposito, and Inter is leveraging this interest to lower Parma's €20 million asking price for Bonny. Both clubs are now working towards a final agreement on what could be a significant swap deal.
The potential exchange has a familiar connection, as both Esposito and Bonny have played under Cristian Chivu. Esposito, 22, notably started for Inter in Chivu's debut as head coach and in the Nerazzurri's 2025 Club World Cup opener against Monterrey last night. He had a productive 2024-25 season with Empoli, scoring eight goals in 33 Serie A appearances. Bonny, 21, also has experience under Chivu, having played for him at Parma during the latter half of the 2024-25 season, contributing six goals and four assists in 37 Serie A games for the Ducali.
Marotta's public comments underscore Inter's genuine desire for Bonny. Speaking to DAZN before last night's 1-1 draw against Monterrey, Marotta stated, "Bonny is an excellent player; he’s among those on the list, but he is a Parma player." This acknowledgment from the club's top executive highlights Bonny as a priority target as Inter looks to strengthen its attacking options.
As negotiations continue, all eyes will be on whether Inter and Parma can successfully navigate the complexities of a swap deal, bringing Bonny to San Siro while potentially sending Esposito to the Ducali.
